Philip Davis Guggenheim was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, on December 5, 1948. He is an American writer, director, and producer who has worked on many popular television shows including NYPD Blue. His other credits include the films The Informant! and Arbitrage.

David Guggenheim married Elisabeth Judson Shue in 1994. They became parents shortly after and, as they had always wanted, raised their children in the Hamptons. The Guggenheims were a close-knit family and David was always there for his kids. He would take them sailing or skiing, or just spend time playing with them at the beach. When the kids got older, he helped them get started in their careers by giving them sage advice and mentorship. David passed away on March 10th, 2019 after a long illness. He was 60 years old.

    Early Life

Davis Guggenheim was born on November 3, 1963, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He is the son of Marion Davis and is a director, producer, and screenwriter. Davis Guggenheim has worked on a variety of films such as “An Inconvenient Truth”, “The Social Network”, and “War Horse”.

Davis Guggenheim graduated from Potomac School, Sidwell Friends School, and Brown University. After attending the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy for two years, he transferred to Brown. Davis’s father was a significant figure in American art during the 1960s and 1970s. Davis followed in his father’s footsteps by studying at Brown under renowned art historian Arthur M. Sackler Jr., receiving his B.A. in 1985. Davis then attended the Yale School of Art for one year before moving to New York City to pursue an MFA in the graduate program at Columbia University. After completing his degree in 1991, Davis returned to New York where he has been working as an independent artist since that time.

Davis Guggenheim is an American film director and producer who has a net worth of $20 million. He is best known for directing the Academy Award-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” and producing the Oscar-nominated “The Help”.

Davis Guggenheim, the son of Jewish parents and an Episcopalian mother, has long been celebrated for his art and philanthropy. But until now, little was known about Davis’ religious background. In a new book, “The Essential Davis Guggenheim,” biographer Bruce Weber reveals that Davis’ father was indeed Jewish and his mother Episcopalian-a revelation that has deeply enriched both their lives.
